Cubs & Scouts Autumn Camp 2024
A huge well to all the Cubs and Scouts who attended the joint Autumn Camp at Kibblestone Scout Campsite. Despite the cold and wet weather at times, it was a super weekend.
A chance to develop and hone important Scouting skills, that will set them up for the future, while enjoying independence and having loads of fun.
After setting up on Friday evening, Saturday morning started with cooking breakfast on fires. Bacon rolls and cereal all in preparation for a days of Scouting-based activities.
A morning of proper Scouting-based activities, whittling, Log splitting, axe work and spit roast construction for the Scouts. All while the Cubs enjoyed their morning of climbing on the crag at Kibblestone.
In the afternoon, Cubs enjoyed fire lighting and knife work, while the Scouts continued their bushcraft before preparing and cooking their own meals in patrols. Homemade meatballs and pasta for tea in Patrols.
Sunday morning, and op work from the Scouts getting their fires going and breakfast cooked. To bring the camp to a close, the return of the medieval fire torches, which saw the Scouts marching around the campsite with their flaming creations.
A shout out to the Senior Patrol Leaders, Henry and Oliver for leading their ‘super’ patrols so effectively.
Huge thanks to the Scout Team Sam, Jake, Adrian, Darren, George and Lucy, as well as the Cub Team Akela, Bagheera, Mang, Ikki and Raksha for putting together an amazing camp for the Cubs and Scouts and giving up another weekend for Scouting.
