Young Leaders

Young Leaders @ 4th Stafford Scout Group

Young Leaders are aged 14 to 18 and provide support to a Section’s leadership team.

Young Leaders supporting Beavers and Cubs at Group Camp.

The Group is proud to support Explorer Scouting in the District, by providing opportunities in all Sections for Young Leaders.

Young Leaders may be Explorer Scouts at a Unit in the District, or get involved only as a Young Leader with the Group. Young Leaders often have been Scouts in the Group themselves, before moving on or join the Group a new.

The Young Leaders scheme offers fantastic opportunities to experience leadership and can be used as part of the Volunteer section of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Young Leaders form an essential part of our Section’s leadership teams. Not only providing ideas and support to adult leaders, but leading and organising their own activities and programme plans. Young Leaders get all the benefits of being a leader and get to continue to enjoy the activities and opportunities our Sections have to offer, including camps throughout the year.

Young Leaders will benefit from the organisation’s Young Leaders Training Scheme that supports them to fulfil their role as a leader in their section.

If you would like to get involved in the Group as a Young Leader contact one of our Section Leaders:

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
