Scout’s Spring Camp 2026
Spring Camp at the Wrekin Campsite. This was a joint venture with the 21st Stafford Scout Troop.

On arrival on Friday evening, Scouts from both Troops got stuck straight in with putting their tents and dining shelters up. Saturday morning started in full with cooking, collecting and chopping wood ready for fires later. Breakfast consisted of sausages, eggs and mushrooms cooking on an open fire.
After a delicious breakfast, our Scouts have split in half, some gone for an adventure and some staying at camp. Those who stayed at camp finished washing up, made more fire, and worked on their knife, axe and saw work, as well as a bit of karaoke during lunch…

Meanwhile, the other Scouts have been off and up the Wrekin on a little adventure. They worked on their navigation skills using maps and compasses and successfully summited the hill.
Back at the campsite, Scouts have cooked a great dinner. The scouts have devoured fajitas and egg fried rice, all cooked themselves, in patrols, on open fires.
To finish the evening, we had some traditional campfire songs, along with marshmallows and biscuits. Off to bed then, with some of them choosing to retire in a hammock for the night.

Huge well done to all the Scouts who attended. a great weekend all round.
Big thanks to the leaders, Adrian, Jake, Sam, Lucy, Louis and George, for giving up their weekend and all the hours of planning and equipment loading.
