Scout’s Winter Camp 2026

Winter Camp 2026 was a step into the unknown. The PLs and APLs were sent on a series of challenges around Cheshire and part of Greater Manchester. Receiving their instructions in a series of letters… ✉️

Part 1, meeting near the charming village of Alderley Edge, then being sent on a little walk before discovering their first mission was to go down a mine!

Part 2, on exiting the mine, the Scouts were met by the rest of the leaders with the next challenge. To hike to the railway station before catching a train to the village of Ashley, via Stockport. From there, the Scouts were met by the leaders again, with the instructions to hike to the campsite and again later, for a twist…

Part 3, After successfully completing their challenges and making their way to the campsite, it was time for tea. Roast dinner of chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, peas, and pudding. All cooked in a Dutch oven, over an open fire. Proper Scouting.

After a good night’s sleep, the rain had finally stopped, it was time to get the fire going again and cook breakfast. Sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms and beans. Before it was time to pack away.

A great weekend. The Scouts were brilliant, putting all the knowledge and skills they’ve learned over the last few years in the Troop into practice. Well done Scouts.
