Group Anniversary Activity Day 2023
Celebrating 30 years of the 4th Stafford (St. Paul’s) Scout Group since it was reformed in 1993.
But the Group has met at St. Paul’s Church in various incarnations since c.1910. Find out more.
What’s on and when?
The day should be a fun and enjoyable day for all the family. Do the activities at your own pace and enjoy some time outside in the sun.

From 10:30 AM – Activities!
There are a huge range of activities run by our team of volunteer leaders:
- Archery/Soft Archery
- Climbing
- Air Rifle Shooting
- Axe Throwing
- Den Building
- Camp Craft
- Adventure Course
- Bushcraft
- Challenges
- Inflatables
Have a go at the activities at your own leisure. There’s plenty for everyone to do. Don’t queue for long, see what else is available.
12:30 PM – Picnic and Presentations
Join us on the main field by the flag for some presentations and awards as well as the all-important reveal of T-Shirt competition winner!
Then enjoy your picnic in the beautiful surroundings at Sherratts Wood.
From 2:00 PM – Activities continue!

From 5:00 PM BBQ!
Big BBQ cooked by the leaders and young people. Hot dogs and burgers available. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink as well.
By 8:00 PM Home Time

Young people and leaders should attend in own clothes and neckers.

Travel – One Way System
The site is accessible only by narrow lanes. To avoid congestion and blocking roads, please follow the strict one-way system shown on the map.
On arrival and parking
- Enter via the gate onto the top field (NOT via the main entrance).
- Leaders will direct you to park either on the top field or further down.
- Sign in with a leader at the Askey lodge.
- On exit, leave via the main entrance and follow the one-way system off-site.
Directions from Stafford
- Take the B5066 from Stafford to Sandon.
- At the Dog and Doublet Public House, turn Left onto the A5.
- Take the second right turn towards Hilderstone (B5066) and continue through the village past the church.
- Take the next right onto Hall Lane Continue along Hall Lane until you get to a tee junction.
- Turn right at the tee junction and continue for approximately 1 mile to the crossroads.
- At the crossroads turn right, and the campsite is on the left.
Safety Notice
- Leaders will very busy people running activities and logistics. Around the site all young people are the responsibility of parents/carers.
- First aid is provided in the Askey Lodge.
- Due to limited parking, there will be vehicles parked and moving around the road areas onsite throughout the day. Please take care when walking in these areas and make young people aware.
- Leaders will take photos of the day, to publish on our website and social media platforms, in line with the Group’s GDPR and photograph On this occasion it is not practical to gain formal consent from every individual who may feature in photography.
- This event has been risk assessed in line with the Group’s safety procedures and Scout Association policy.
